Cox Media Group Tampa Partners with Pepin Distributing to Collect Hurricane Relief Supplies

TAMPA — October 9, 2018 — Cox Media Group (CMG) Tampa Radio stations WSUN (97X), WWRM (Magic 94-9), WPOI (Hot 101.5), WHPT (102.5 The Bone), WDUV (105.5 The Dove) and WXGL (107.3 The Eagle) have joined forces with Pepin Distributing and Great Bay Distributors to help collect non-perishable supplies for those in the path of Hurricane Michael.

All six radio stations will broadcast Friday, October 12, between 5am – 7pm, at the WalMart SuperCenter on Dale Mabry at 275 in Tampa (1505 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa FL 33607), while collecting supplies that are most needed in the aftermath of a hurricane, included bottled water, diapers, baby formula and non-perishable food items.

“We know, all too well, how it feels to have a storm of this size headed your way” said Keith Lawless, CMG Tampa Radio’s Vice President & Market Manager.  “We just wanted to join hands with the wonderful people at Pepin and try to help our Florida neighbors to the north, in any way that we can.”

“Pepin is passionate about helping our friends in the Panhandle of Florida. Last year we helped the people in the lower Florida Keys and Puerto Rico by mobilizing our resources of trucks and dedicated employees” said Bill Gieseking, Director of Marketing with Pepin Distributing Company.

The goal is to fill trucks, provided by Pepin Distributing, and work with the American Red Cross to transport the supplies to the Florida Panhandle as quickly as possible, to get supplies into the hands of those that need it most.
