Pepin Distributing Company Donates $25,000 Matching Gift to the WFLA Heart Walk Campaign

TAMPA – A longtime media sponsor of the Tampa Bay Heart Walk, WFLA News Channel 8 has raised more than $100,000 for the Heart Walk for three consecutive years – unheard of by any other news outlet in the country. Part of their fundraising efforts include matches from generous companies, like Pepin Distributing Company.

Tom Pepin has agreed to serve on the Executive Cabinet for this year’s American Heart Association Heart Walk. The total commitment from Mr.Pepin is $75,000. Pepin Distributing has made a corporate gift, a personal gift and is the sponsor of the survivor hats that are given to survivors at the Heart Walk. “Fighting heart disease is one of the greatest gifts we can give our community because there is a tsunami of cardiovascular disease that has hit our state and our nation. We have a philosophy that we treat the entire family, not just the patient,” Mr. Pepin said.

The Heart Walk is at the Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, November 10th. The festivities start at 8 am and the walk starts at 9 am. You can join the walk or donate at https://www.wfla.com/heartwalk. Alternatively, you can tune into WFLA News Channel 8 on Tuesday, October 30th starting at 3.30 pm and phone in your donations as volunteer Pepin Distributing employees will be taking in calls from the community. Donations to the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk progress lifesaving research.
